Yoshito Ohno



imgYoshito Ohno was born in 1938 in Tokyo. In 1959 he played a role of a young boy in "Kinjiki (Forbidden colors)" directed and choreographed by Tatsumi Hijikata, which is taken as the first creation of Butoh in its history. After that he participated in concerts of House of Artaudモand Hijikata's group Ankoku Butoh-ha.In 1969 Yoshito had the first solo recital and suspended stage appearance. In 1985 he made a comeback in "The Dead Sea" with Kazuo Ohno. Since 1986 he has directed all the Kazuo Ohno's performances. In 1998 he had a solo recital "The Last Picture of Dorian Gray" based on the manuscripts left unpublished in Masakatsu Gunji's lifetime. He has published the first book "Kazuo Ohno : Food of the Soul" published by Film Art-sha.
